The MicroVentures initiative was started up in 2006 as a specialized private equity company investing into Microfinance Institutions ("MFIs") operating in selected regions (India, Indonesia and the Andean countries). The initiative was promoted by a group of partners with specific experience in the field of social venture capital and economic cooperation with Emerging Countries, backed by a pool of financial institutions, private foundations and individual investors.
The investment company MicroVentures Investments SICAR (Luxembourg) is structured into independent and segregated business compartments. The business compartment MV Equity 1 performs equity investments into well managed, promising MFIs, whilst the compartment MV Convertible is focused on debt financing.
MicroVentures provides attractive opportunities to both its private and institutional shareholders aiming at socially responsible initiatives with sound financial returns. For additional details about the opportunities for investors please refer to the Investor Relations section. |
